VMware launches vFabric GemFire 7.0

We recently launched VMware vFabric GemFire 7.0, the latest update to VMware’s vFabric suite of products for developing, running and managing data intensive web applications. While the suite contains a number of different solutions covering each aspect of creating custom applications, vFabric GemFire 7.0 makes it easier for businesses to dynamically scale their data-intensive applications based on demand.

This elasticity is supported through dynamic data partitioning, replication, data-aware routing and continuous querying. GemFire has also been designed to increase developer productivity, allowing developers to increase the speed at which they can create applications, and simplify the development process. Check out this video for a quick rundown of how these features can be used.

The UK press has covered the launch of GemFire 7.0, with a number of titles taking a closer look at the features of GemFire and how it can be used to support modern applications. DataCentre Solutions provides its readers with a rundown of the new features in the latest version of GemFire, and what these mean to enterprise application developers. Computer Business Review also delivers an overview of the new solution, looking at GemFire’s high-speed parallel WAN processing which allows applications to be scaled across global sites without affecting the application’s performance.

For more information on GemFire 7.0, visit the product page on the VMware website. You can also see how GemFire 7.0 fits in with the vFabric suite, as well as look at the other products in the suite.
