What an event! If you missed today’s webinar, you can find out all about it, and what it means for businesses here.
One of the key points discussed this morning by Pat Gelsinger and Ben Fathi was the unveiling of the first unified platform of virtualized compute, networking and storage for the hybrid cloud.
As discussed in our previous blog, the manner in which businesses create value has changed significantly, shifting from hard assets to the more liquid assets of software and data.
Defined in software, VMware’s platform enables customers to create one consistent environment across the private and public cloud to rapidly develop and deliver any cloud-native or traditional application. This offers customers openness and choice in how to build and manage application and cloud environments based on their specific needs.
As our customers accelerate growth, their IT organisations are expected to drive transformation, enhance efficiency and bring more value to the business than ever before, and our unified platform provides a solution to do this.
It features the latest edition of the industry-defining virtualization solution for the hybrid cloud and foundation for the software-defined data center, VMware vSphere 6. This platform is complimented by the newest releases of VMware vCloud Suite 6, VMware vSphere with Operations Management 6, and VMware Virtual SAN 6.
We have also re-enforced our support of open frameworks for building and managing clouds with the launch of the VMware Integrated OpenStack distribution. This first-ever OpenStack distribution from VMware will empower IT to provide developers with open API access to enterprise-class VMware Infrastructure.
This is all major news for VMware and the industry – our new innovations will enable businesses to deliver compelling solutions and services to customers in 2015, providing them with a competitive advantage. If you didn’t manage to catch it, you can view the webinar recording here.
