The Digital Workspace is here

As you’ll have seen on Twitter, we’ve been excited about telling you the latest news around our #digitalworkspace vision. We’re now happy to announce that the wait is over, with the launch of our latest digital workspace announcements.

Business mobility is increasingly becoming an investment priority, and organisations need the tools to allow them to create an agile, digitally-led workplace. Employees want to work on any device, wherever they are, and expect their employers to be able to deliver this.

Our latest announcement gives the IT team the tools to provide this secure digital workspace and efficiently manage users, devices and applications. Through this digital workspace, users have a consumer-simple way to access businesses resources regardless of device type. In addition, our digital workspace gives the wider organisation a powerful platform on which it can base existing and new businesses processes, enabling a more effective mobile workforce.

Key to this are today’s three updates to the VMware End-User Computing product portfolio:

  • VMware Workspace ONE – A brand new solution that delivers secure digital workspaces for flexible work styles and bring your own device (BYOD). Using the principles of ‘consumer simple’ and ‘enterprise secure,’ the digital workspace delivered by VMware will address the end user and enterprise IT business mobility needs by aggregating all devices, applications, and services while securely managing them through unified common access and identity.
  • VMware Horizon 7 – Major advancements in the latest version make the solution the industry’s fastest, easiest, and most affordable application and desktop delivery solution available.
  • New Capability in Horizon Air – A new hybrid-mode capability will be available in VMware Horizon Air to provide customers with a single, cloud control plane for delivering and managing on-premises virtual applications and desktops on hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) or VMware Virtual SAN ready-nodes.

Don’t forget to keep an eye out for tomorrow’s #CloudMgmt news, which will show how VMware’s software-defined approach can help simplify how you build and manage your hybrid cloud.
