Recognising Women in Technology

According to a recent report, only one in 20 IT job applicants is female. At the same time, the tech industry is crying out for fresh talent with nearly half of all technology firms seeking to hire more staff.

At VMware, we’re passionate about supporting and motivating more women to help drive the IT industry forward. This is especially important as the research also shows that female role models and opportunities to network are key to countering the talent deficit.

To show our commitment to this important issue, we’re sponsoring the Inspiration of the Year award category in the FDM everywoman in Technology Awards. This month saw the announcement of the finalists – check out the everywoman website to find out who’s in the running. These awards provide a great opportunity to celebrate those who are making a difference.

The ceremony and dinner will take place on 17 March 2015, preceded by the inaugural everywoman Technology Forum, a day of interactive masterclasses, motivational talks and networking. If you’d like to attend, you can get hold of tickets here.
