Looking Back At 2015

From ground breaking announcements to packed events and industry awards, 2015 was an exciting year for VMware. Take a look below for some of our highlights – and let us know if you think we’ve missed anything.

2015 started with one of the biggest announcements of the year – the first ever unified platform of virtualized compute, networking and storage for the hybrid cloud. This allowed our customers to build, run and manage any application all in one single cloud, helping them to deliver compelling solutions and services.

2015 was also the year of our digital skills research. As part of this we discussed how the industry feels about digital skills and what companies are missing out on by failing to utilise their digital talent. Take a look at our latest infographic to get an overview of our findings.

No year is complete without VMworld Europe. In 2015, a record breaking 10,000 people made their way to Barcelona, where some of VMware’s top execs outlined the new and updated products that are coming together to deliver the One Cloud, Any Application, Any Device vision. These included vRealize Automation 7, vSphere Integrated Containers and the vCloud NFV platform.

The efforts of VMware and its employees have been recognised over and over again in the past year. Following a win for the ‘most innovative enterprise product of the year’ at the UK Cloud Awards in March, VMware vCloud Air won the Best Cloud Computing Product award in May. What’s more, VMware’s Karen Egan won “International Leader of the Year”, recognising her outstanding contribution to VMware and her work with VMware’s corporate social responsibility programme.
