Joe Baguley: Daily Telegraph Business Technology profile

How do you become EMEA CTO of a global technology firm? Well, if you’re anything like our own Joe Baguley, it comes from harnessing an innate love of technology and gadgets, and taking inspiration from your parents. That’s just one thing we’ve learnt from reading Joe’s recent interview the Daily Telegraph Business Technology supplement. If you missed out, you can read the article online here on pages 12-13 and learn more about Joe, his role at VMware and how we’ve been working with our customers. If you haven’t read the article yet, take a look below for an idea of what you’re missing:

  • Learn how Joe got started in technology and how he ended up at VMware. In Joe’s own words from the article – “I am addicted to gadgets. In this way I get to do gadgets as a job.”
  • Understand how VMware’s hybrid cloud solution is used by customers such as Betfair to cope with spikes in demand from customers for increased payment capacity
  • Read Joe’s views on mobile cloud technology trends, and how VMware’s end user computing solutions allow employees to “get access to your files and data and edit them wherever you are, with whatever device you are on.”

Of course, if you want to hear Joe expand on these ideas, and what the wider concept of a software-defined business means, then make sure you visit vForum London on the 11th June, or vForum Manchester on the  8th July. At both events, Joe will be delivering the keynote “The Software-Defined Enterprise: Thriving in the Mobile-Cloud Era”, so register now to make sure you don’t miss out. vForum is free to attend – just click here to register your attendance.
