How can you get more out of VMware vSphere?

VMware’s virtualization platform, vSphere, is used by businesses across the globe to build and maintain cloud infrastructures within their datacentres. As our customers further invest in their journey towards the cloud, they’re telling us that they need purpose-built, integrated solutions to better manage, optimise and protect their virtual environments.

So, today we are launching two new solutions to help customers make the most of their vSphere deployments.

Firstly, we’ve announced a new VMware vSphere offering that combines the industry-leading virtualization platform with the award-winning VMware vCenter Operations Management Suite. In addition, we’re also introducing a new edition of VMware vSphere Data Protection, the backup and recovery solution first introduced as part of VMware vSphere 5.1 in August 2012.

Getting maximum value out of existing budgets has always been a key priority for IT departments; the new offering, vSphere with Operations Management, is designed to help support this. It provides a closer integration between vSphere and vCenter Operations Management suite, allowing vSphere deployments to be optimized using vCenter Operations Management.

What this means is that vCenter’s powerful analytics and monitoring tools can be used to improve vSphere’s utilisation levels by up to 40 per cent, as well as reduce CAPEX costs by 30 per cent and reduce the time it takes to find and resolve problems. You can find out more about the benefits of vCenter Operations Management on the VMware website

vSphere Data Protection Advanced provides efficient and easy to use backup for Microsoft Exchange and SQL Server applications within a vSphere environment. Based on the proven EMC Avamar backup technology, Data Protection Advanced is tightly integrated with vSphere, so that IT managers can look after all aspects of their vSphere virtual environments from one console, including backup and recovery.

We’re really excited about the new products, as they give vSphere even greater flexibility and power, as well as make it easier for IT teams to create and manage cloud infrastructures, keep down costs and improve efficiency. If you want to know more, take a look at VMware’s website, and we’ll also let you know what the press in your area thought about the launch on the blog.
