Where can you join more than 8,000 industry professionals, 190 leading cloud solution providers and hear from 260 leading speakers? That’s right, Cloud World Forum 2014! It’s set to take place on the 17th and 18th of June, so it’s almost upon us…
It should be of no surprise that VMware has a major presence at the show, so come and join us at Olympia National in London next week, free registration here.
So, how are we involved and what’s in store if you’re able to come along?
Firstly, you won’t want to miss the first day opening address from our very own EMEA CTO, Joe Baguley at 10:00am in the Technical Cloud Theatre. His talk on the theme: ‘The Software-Defined Enterprise: Thriving in the Mobile Cloud Era’ will address the crucial issue of how IT needs to transform to become more valuable to the business. He’ll talk about his experience working with many of VMware’s customers doing amazing things with their IT, offering insight and guidance on how attendees can evolve their infrastructures for the mobile cloud era.
You’ll have time for a quick lunch before Joe’s back – this time presenting the first day keynote in the Future Cloud Theatre at 1pm with a session on the Software-Defined Everything. He’ll outline what a Software-Defined world looks like, where it’s headed and, critically, why it matters for IT and business.
On day two it’s the turn of Gavin Jackson VMware’s VP and GM Cloud Services EMEA, to take the stage. At noon in the Technical Cloud Theatre he’ll be discussing ‘Hybrid Cloud: from aspiration to reality’. There’s been lots of talk about how hybrid cloud is able to deliver the security, governance and management of the private cloud, combined with the speed and agility of the public cloud… but many solutions simply do not live up to the hype. Gavin will present on what true hybrid cloud looks like, and how organisations can benefit from it. Directly afterwards, Gavin will be back to host a panel session, where he’ll be leading a debate entitled ‘Hybrid Cloud computing: drivers, expectations and future’.
