AirWatch named ‘Mobility Vendor of the Year’ at CRN Channel Awards 2014

The 13th November saw the crème de la crème of the UK channel gather for the CRN Awards at Battersea Park in London. The ceremony rewards those that have made a remarkable contribution to the channel over the past twelve months.

We’re very proud to announce that AirWatch by VMware was awarded the honour of ‘Mobility Vendor of the Year’. It was up against some tough competition, so we’re delighted with the recognition.

2014 has been a transformative year for VMware’s mobility strategy. As the market evolves with more and more enterprises seeing mobility as integral, we’re perfectly poised to help partners exploit the opportunities out there.

With Mobile Device Management climbing higher and higher on the business agenda of companies across a range of industries, this award not only showcases AirWatch’s position as a major player in the IT industry, but it recognises the ingenuity and brilliant achievements of its channel team and partners over the past year.

The acquisition of AirWatch earlier this year is perhaps the most notable addition to our EUC capabilities. Its customer base has grown around six times over in the last two years, driven by the adoption of mobile devices across organisations, and this will continue to expand particularly as we see more inclusion around the Internet of Things.

We’ve also seen the successful acquisition of Desktone (for Desktop as a Service), the GA of Horizon 6 and another acquisition in the form of CloudVolumes (now rebranded to VMware App Volumes). And sales of Mirage continue to grow rapidly!

Together, these acquisitions have enabled us to provide a secure virtual workspace for businesses, while driving down the cost of desktop and mobile management.

Well done to all involved!
