Driving Cloud in the Business

Following on from our latest #HybridCloudchat, our next event aims to lift the bonnet on how organisations are using cloud services – and discuss how a Hybrid solution can meet all areas of the business’ needs.

In this era of IT disruption, lines of business are taking more control for themselves, particularly when it comes to cloud solutions. In recent research completed in conjunction with VMware and VCE we found well over three quarters (88%) of those surveyed currently use a public cloud solution, with biggest industry use coming from Retail and Telecoms, Media and Entertainment industries.

When we look at how they decide which services to use, our research found less than half (43%) of line of business leaders do not fully consult IT before purchasing any external / public cloud services. This highlights the control and decisions, lines of business are taking away from the traditional owners, the IT department, and forms part of a wider shift towards harnessing digital technologies across every organisation, something Gartner calls the ‘The Digital Industrial Economy’. This shift see’s business aiming to become digital leaders and making every company a technology company.

These findings, and the capabilities and benefits of a Hybrid Cloud solution are the subject of our next Hybrid Cloud chat, taking place on 9th October at 12.30 – 13.30 BST, where you can join Richard Munro, CTO vCloud Air EMEA at VMware, Rob Lamb, Cloud Business Director at EMC, Nigel Moulton CTO at VCE and RSA’s Rashmi Knowles, Chief Security Architect EMEA to discuss the findings, and continue the conversation around Hybrid Cloud solutions and how this can give your line of business what they are looking for, and support IT teams to regain control.
