This week has been a momentous one for us at VMware as we have been positioned as a leader in the “IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Virtual Client Computing Software 2015 Vendor Assessment”.
This is a huge milestone for our End User Computing (EUC) business, as it justifies that the stake we put in the ground around this line of business is a valid one, has been justified as the right thing to do and has resulted in a working solution that our customers are using successfully.
According to the report: “VMware was recognised as having the most complete strategy and solution capabilities for delivering virtual desktops and applications through its VMware Horizon portfolio of solutions and services that includes VMware Horizon 6, Horizon Air, Horizon FLEX and VMware App Volumes.”
Furthermore the report also stated that: “VMware’s position reflects the company’s market position and commitment to providing resources to expand its EUC product portfolio and infrastructure. IDC believes that IT organisations will increasingly seek comprehensive easy- to-use endpoint management solutions that can scale across dispersed and disparate environments consisting of a mix of physical, virtual, and cloud architectures.”
This report is the start of a huge shift in the client computing landscape and we are delighted to be at the forefront of this. Led by our fearless innovators in our development business, VMware will continue to drive innovation to help customers transform their desktops and deliver applications to any device, on any platform, anywhere using a secure virtual workspace so workers can truly take advantage of the mobile cloud.
