Manx Telecom races ahead with VMware NFV

We recently visited Gary Lamb, CEO, and Kevin Paige, CITO of Manx Telecom, the primary provider of a broad array of data centre, hosting, broadband, fixed line and mobile communications services to the Isle of Man. We wanted to find out how it is benefiting from Network Function Virtualization (NFV).

Take a look at the video below where Gary and Kevin talk through how they embarked on a strategy to virtualize multiple telecom and broadband services onto an NFV platform. From accelerated time to market including a 4G roaming service, to improved agility, Gary and Kevin explain the technical and operational reasons for investing in NFV.

The annual Isle of Man TT motorcycle racing festival dramatically expands the island’s population. Going forward, NFV offers Manx Telecom the potential to handle such dramatic changes in peak loads by reallocating infrastructure capacity between services, on demand.

Watch the video to learn more about how NFV is helping transform Manx Telecom, and make sure you visit us at Mobile World Congress in Hall 3, Stand 3K10 to find out about the VMware solutions that can help accelerate your digital transformation.

Stay up to date on the latest news and announcements from the event, using the hashtag #MWC17, and make sure you’re following us over on @VMware_ZA.
