Evolution of the IT organisation – The Future of Enterprise IT

As we’ve discussed on the blog before, businesses are now finding themselves in a dynamic and liquid world, where markets, business models and ways of using IT are rapidly changing. Traditional approaches to business and IT no longer fulfill the needs of the modern organisation, which require a single, unified IT environment.

At the SDDC launch in February, Pat Gelsinger introduced our ‘One Cloud, Any Application’ approach, focused on enabling the IT department to respond to the needs of the overall business and better support its goals. However, the challenge for many organisations is how they can make this a reality, and what they need to do now to achieve this, both now and in the future.

To delve further into the challenges facing the IT organisation, we sat EMEA CTO Joe Baguley down with technologist Peter Cochrane to discuss the future of enterprise IT and the direction in which IT departments must head to meet the demands of this liquid world.

In the first of our five videos, Joe and Peter discuss the concept of ‘One Cloud, Any Application’, and the power of being able to move business critical applications from the private to public cloud.

Next week, Peter and Joe will be discussing the hybrid cloud, so keep an eye out for that on our blog and over on our YouTube channel.
