Let your hair down at VMworld Europe

In the midst of VMworld Europe’s executive sessions, panel discussions and keynote speeches there’s always time for a little rest and relaxation – after all, even Europe’s top enterprise IT experts need to let their hair down sometimes.

We’ve compiled the top five ways to spend a little downtime in Barcelona – take a look and let us know if you’ve got any to add…

1. Enter the Fast Lane
Head over to the Hangout area and try your hand at our racer game – we’ll be running competitions through lunchtime on Tuesday and Wednesday of the show, hit the top score on the day and you could win some great prizes. Of course, it may pay to get a little practice in first, so check out the online version of our game here.

2. Rock It Out!
Come along to the VMworld party – hosted in the main hall on Wednesday night – and end the show in style with a little help from some very special guests! Plenty of food, drink, entertainment and a chance to celebrate the year gone by with your colleagues and friends, old and new.

3. Enjoy the Last of the Summer Sun
With Barcelona still enjoying temperatures of 24°C you can extend your summer for another couple of days and get in a few more valuable tanning sessions! (For some ideas of what to get up to have a read of these tips from the locals)

4. Sip a Cocktail at the W hotel
Located on the Barceloneta boardwalk, the W Lounge offers a chance to unwind from a long day on the conference floor and seems to attract a lot of VMworlders. Take in the beautiful sea-view and enjoy one of the hotel’s signature cocktails.

5. Eat Fantastic Food
Barcelona is famous for its incredible tapas, so this is your chance to enjoy world class cuisine (and maybe a couple of cervezas). Have a look at Time Out for great places to eat – and don’t forget to visit La Boqueria if you have time.
